Run, run, Rudolph at WNAT primary fundraiser

Hundreds of children at a WNAT school donned festive antlers when they took part in a seasonal fun run to raise money for a Lynn charity.

The Rudolph Run saw more than 400 children from Reception through to Year 6 at Gaywood Primary complete sponsored laps of the school playground in aid of Tapping House.

Antlers for all participants were supplied by the Hillington-based hospice, which provides care for those living with life-limiting illness, as well as support for their carers, families and friends.

“Victoria Rush from the charity came to give an assembly to the children to explain all about Tapping House,” said Bethan Williams, who is Year 4 Teacher at Gaywood and organised the event.

“She also brought Rudolph with her to give out the antlers to the School Council.”

Since the event launched in 2022, over 5,000 children have taken part in the Rudolph Run, helping to raise £25,600 for Tapping House.

It was the second time that Gaywood’s ‘little reindeer’ had joined in the fundraising fun, with the school hoping to make over £500 for the cause.

“It’s important that the children understand who Tapping House are and what they do as a local charity,” added Miss Williams.
