Eyes down for WNAT school bingo evening
There was a full house when a WNAT school held a bingo evening fundraiser, complete with raffle and refreshments – and raised an impressive £1,200.
Springwood High School’s Parent Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) organised the event to fundraise for next year’s Prom, as well as to improve the lighting system in the school hall.
“We are raising funds for the current Year 10’s Prom next year and to upgrade the lighting system in the Peter Hopkins Hall, which will not only benefit the students but also the wider community groups who use the facilities,” said Fezzi Williams, who is Chair of the PTFA.
“We are hoping to raise as much funds as possible for the school, as every penny counts. We are hoping that with each event, we will be bigger and better than the previous event.”
The evening followed a quiz night and a previous bingo event, which took place in March and raised around £250 for the 2024 Year 11 Prom.
“I have an amazing team by my side, and none of what we do would be possible without the astounding teamwork, effort and coordination from everyone that goes into each of these events,” added Mrs Williams.
“We all contribute to our strengths, and the people whom I work with, I couldn’t speak of more highly. I am very lucky to have them as part of the team.”
