Springwood Sixth Form - A Level Results 2019

Springwood High School is celebrating another record year for A’ level results

Student and staff are celebrating after Springwood Sixth Form have achieved record results this year, and these are as follows:

78% of students gained A*-C grades (up 5% on last year!)
45% of students gained A*-B (equalling last year)
21% of students gained A*/A (equalling last year)

The Joint highest achieving students were Ellie Chen and Megan Tomsett who achieve A*A*A grades.

Andy Johnson, Executive Headteacher said;

 “These are an excellent set of results for our school, a real testament to the hard work of both students and staff”

Roger Livesey, Chair of Governors said;

“Springwood has worked hard to become an outstanding sixth form provider for our students. These results show the school continues to provide the very best in Sixth Form teaching. Well done to all involved!”

Also this year our students have achieved the highest number of Oxbridge, Medicine and Law places in the school’s history;

Ellie Chen, English Language and Literature at Exeter College, Oxford University.
Will Pocock, English at St John’s College, Cambridge University.
Rachel Ampomah, Medicine at University College London.
Daniel Harvey, Medicine at Lancaster University.
Saffron Kirkpatrick, Medicine at Newcastle University
Kristine Kulikova, Medicine at University of East Anglia
Thomas Chudley, Law at Essex University
Sophie Ward, Law at Nottingham Trent University

with others achieving prestigious apprenticeships;

Thomas Holt, Higher Level Engineering Apprenticeship at EDF Energy.
Alice Runyard, Higher Level Law Apprenticeship at Kennedys.
Oliver Saxby, Cadetship at BP.
Harry Hipkin, Air Traffic Control with the National Air Traffic Control Services.
Zara Barlow, Accountancy Apprenticeship at Stephenson Smart Accountants
Charlotte Clarke, Teaching Apprenticeship at Gaywood Primary School.
Felicity Webb, Interior Design Apprenticeship at Unique.

Many students completed the highly regarded Extended Project Qualification. 60% of students achieved either an A* or A grade in this qualification

Jess Cuss, Head of Year 13 said;

 “I am very proud of all of the student’s achievements this year. It is my favourite day of the year, seeing so many happy faces go off to their first choice destinations”

35 students who received their results today also  achieved Norfolk Scholar Status (ABB grades or higher at A’ Level) and these are as follows:
